TAMARAC, FL — A Broward County woman has sued the operator of a Tamarac healthcare facility, alleging she slipped and fell on an unknown substance on the property, according to a civil complaint filed this week in Broward County Circuit Court.
The lawsuit was filed by Carol Weinstein against 5901 NW 79th Avenue Operations LLC, doing business as NSPIRE Healthcare Tamarac, and Millennium Management L.L.C. Court records show the complaint was e-filed on July 1, 2026, in the 17th Judicial Circuit in and for Broward County, Florida, and assigned to Division 12. The case number is CACE-26-010755.
According to the complaint, Weinstein was on the premises at 5901 NW 79th Avenue in Tamarac on September 11, 2024, as a guest and invitee of the defendants. The lawsuit alleges she was walking on the premises when she slipped on an unknown substance on the floor and fell to the ground.
The complaint alleges the presence of the unknown substance created an unreasonably dangerous and unsafe condition. The lawsuit further alleges the defendants and their employees or agents had actual or constructive notice of the substance on the floor.
The filing brings two negligence counts. Count I is directed at 5901 NW 79th Avenue Operations LLC, and Count II is directed at Millennium Management L.L.C. The complaint alleges each defendant owned, possessed, operated, maintained or controlled the premises at the time of the incident.
Both counts allege the defendants breached a non-delegable duty to use reasonable care in maintaining the property. Among the specific allegations, the lawsuit says the defendants failed to properly maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition, failed to adequately train and supervise employees, failed to restrict access to the area containing the alleged hazard, failed to warn the plaintiff of the alleged condition, failed to correct the alleged condition, and failed to provide an adequate walking surface. The complaint also reserves the right to identify additional theories of negligence during discovery.
The complaint alleges Weinstein sustained injuries resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of the capacity for enjoyment of life, expenses of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment, loss of earnings, loss of the ability to earn money in the future, and aggravation of a previously existing condition. The lawsuit alleges these losses are either permanent or continuing.
Weinstein is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs, and has demanded a jury trial on all issues triable as a right by jury, according to the complaint.
The complaint is signed by Gregory Thomson of The Injury Firm in Fort Lauderdale, listed as counsel for the plaintiff.
