TAMARAC, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives said a missing 17-year-old has been located and reunited with family.

BSO identified the teen as Brisa Velasco. Detectives said she was safely located.

The missing persons alert was issued after Velasco was last seen around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28, in the 8700 block of Northwest 57th Street in Tamarac, according to detectives.

BSO detectives handled the case and announced the update that she has been found. The agency did not release additional details about where she was located or what led to her being reported missing.

For residents in Boca Raton and across Palm Beach County, the update is a reminder that missing persons alerts can involve agencies outside the county and may still circulate locally as information is shared across South Florida.

What happens next is largely administrative. With the teen located and reunited with family, the missing persons alert is effectively resolved. Anyone who may have shared the earlier alert should update posts and messages to reflect that she has been found.

BSO remains the responsible agency for any follow-up tied to the original report.
