Jermaine Arguinzoni, 51, Passed Away
DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — 35-year-old Chase Kellerman of Pompano Beach turned himself in to BSO for the deadly hit-and-run that killed a homeless man in Deerfield Beach.
The day following a tragic hit and run incident in Deerfield Beach that claimed the life of a pedestrian, the driver voluntarily surrendered himself to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
As per the findings of BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit detectives, it was around midnight on Sunday, February 4th when a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on South Federal Highway in the left lane and collided with a male pedestrian who was crossing the road outside of a designated crosswalk. Afterward, the vehicle involved in the accident left without stopping.
BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue promptly responded to the scene, where Jermaine Arguinzoni, identified as the pedestrian, was sadly pronounced deceased.
On Monday, February 5th, Chase Kellerman visited BSO District Office in Deerfield Beach to report his involvement in a crash. It was confirmed that Kellerman was indeed driving the Chevrolet Silverado which struck Arguinzoni.
Kellerman has been taken into custody at BSO Main Jail and is now facing charges for leaving an accident scene resulting in death.
