On May 4th, 2024, Marvin Perez Lopez, believed to be an undocumented individual from Guatemala, was apprehended for allegedly committing the crimes of kidnapping a child under thirteen years old and engaging in sexual assault.

As per the investigation conducted by law enforcement officers, it was discovered that Lopez departed Guatemala in early January, traveled through Mexico, surrendered himself to Border Patrol officials, received a court appointment scheduled for sometime in 2027 and was subsequently released. He eventually made his way to Florida by the end of January 2024.

Currently, Marvin Perez Lopez is detained without bail at the Palm Beach County Jail.
