Fayez Homasi Loses Control Of Toyota Supra, Killing Pedestrian

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — A pedestrian walking along Skees road was hit and killed by a Toyota Supra that lost traction on Skees Road with a posted speed limit of 40 MPH.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post that just after 4 PM on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022, deputies responded to the area of Skees Road and Imperial Drive in unincorporated West Palm Beach in reference to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident.

Responding PBSO district deputies and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue located a pedestrian who was immediately declared deceased at the scene.

PBSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives were notified and began an investigation into the incident. Detectives tell us Fayez Homasi, 37, was driving a 1994 Toyota Supra northbound on Skees Rd. At the same time, an unidentified man was walking southbound on the east side of Skees road. Homasi lost traction and began to rotate clockwise as it went off the east side of the roadway. The driver’s side door impacted the pedestrian as he was walking on the sidewalk. The vehicle continued off the roadway where the driver’s side rear corner struck a utility pole. This redirected the vehicle to rotate counterclockwise 180 degrees and come to rest in the bushes on the side of the road.

PBSO has not indicated any criminal negligence at this time. It is unclear if Homasi will be cited for the accident or what caused him to lose control of the high-performance vehicle on Skees road which is a clearly marked 40 MPH speed limit.
