BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — Boca Raton Fire Rescue along with other agencies extinguished a large brush fire near the Costco in Boca Raton early this morning.
Early this morning at 4;56 a.m., the Boca Raton Fire Rescue promptly responded to a report of a brush fire located at 7400 Congress Avenue in Boca Raton. The alert was raised by an observant passerby who noticed smoke and flames while taking their morning stroll along the El Rio Trail.
Upon reaching the scene, the Boca Raton Fire Rescue team faced challenging circumstances, as heavy smoke and flames were deeply embedded in the densely forested area. Despite the windy conditions, around 45-50 firefighters, working alongside Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, collaborated to contain the fire.
After an intense effort lasting for 2.5 hours, the fire was successfully brought under control. Nevertheless, approximately 4 5 acres of land were left charred by the blaze. The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
