Man Struck By Car, Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver In Tamarac

TAMARAC, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — BSO is investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a man dead in Tamarac late on Sunday night.

A nearby gas station’s surveillance footage reveals the car that law enforcement suspects was associated with the accident. Investigators believe it is either a silver sedan or a compact SUV. At the crash site, investigators recovered the aforementioned car components. These parts form the assembly of the passenger side headlight, leading detectives to anticipate damage on the front passenger side of the vehicle.

The Traffic Homicide Unit of the Broward Sheriffs Office is currently investigating a hit and run accident that occurred late Sunday night in Tamarac resulting in the death of a man.

As per the investigation report at 10;54 p.m. Broward County Regional Communications received information about a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the vicinity of Northwest 31st Avenue and West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac. In response to this deputies from BSO and Tamarac Fire Rescue promptly arrived at the scene.

Based on the findings it appears that an unidentified vehicle traveling eastbound through the intersection struck the male victim. The man was crossing towards the direction near the crosswalk on the western side of the intersection when he was tragically hit. Paramedics declared him deceased at the scene. The driver responsible for this incident fled from the location following the crash.

BSO has not indicated whether or not the make and model of the suspected vehicle is known at this time and tell us that this is still a very active investigation.
