Andres Munoz, 90, Passed Away

TAMARAC, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — 90-year-old Andres Munoz passed away after being involved in a two vehicle crash in Tamarac on Friday afternoon.

BSO Traffic Homicide Unit is currently investigating the fatal two car accident that occurred in Tamarac.

On Friday, December 15th, at around 12:27 p.m., BSO traffic homicide detectives were called to the intersection of West McNab Road and Westwood Boulevard after receiving a report about a collision involving two vehicles.

Based on the initial investigation at the scene, it was found that Andres Munoz was driving a 2015 Nissan Versa heading west on West McNab Road. The Nissan entered the left turn lane with the intention of going southbound on Westwood Boulevard and proceeded across the eastbound lanes.

Simultaneously, a driver in a 2022 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound in the far right through lane of West McNab Road towards the intersection with Westwood Boulevard. According to detectives, the front of the Toyota collided with the mid passenger side of the Nissan in a T bone style impact within the intersection. As a result, the Nissan spun clockwise and rolled back into an area nearby on the southeast corner of the intersection. The Toyota veered southeast and came to a stop close to where they collided.

Emergency responders from Tamarac Fire Rescue promptly arrived at the scene. Paramedics transported the Toyota driver to a local hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. Fortunately, they were later released after medical evaluation.
Firefighters also took Munoz to a nearby hospital in a critical state. Unfortunately, on Saturday, December 16th, Munoz was pronounced dead.
