Deputy Shoots, Kills Oakland Park Domestic Violence Suspect

OAKLAND PARK, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — Deputies responded to a domestic violence call where a deputy ended up shooting the suspect.

The incident happened near the 800 block of East Prospect Road in Oakland Park just before 3 PM on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024.

Broward County Regional Communications received a notification around 2;47 p.m. Regarding a shooting involving a deputy in Oakland Park near the 800 block of East Prospect Road. According to the initial investigation, the Oakland Park District Crime Suppression Team from Broward Sheriff’s Office was searching for a suspect involved in a domestic violence incident.

Deputies had an encounter with this individual and after a period of negotiation, a confrontation took place, which led to the deputies firing their weapons. Sadly, the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The media has set up an area for reporting near North Dixie Highway and East Prospect Road.
