LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A man was hospitalized after investigators say he was shot while driving on US-441 in Lauderdale Lakes on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, shortly before 2:30 p.m., Broward County Regional Communications received a call in reference to a shooting near the 3400 block of North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes. Broward Sheriff’s Office district deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. On scene, deputies located a driver suffering from injuries that appeared to be consistent with being shot at. BSFR transported the woman to an area hospital to be treated for her injuries.

According to investigators, shots were fired from another motorist, who was in a black sedan that fled north on North State Road 7 following the shooting. The north and southbound lanes between West Oakland Park Boulevard and the 4100 block of North State Road 7 are shut down.
