BROWARD COUNTY, FL — BSO detectives have safely located an 84-year-old man who was the subject of a missing persons alert in Broward County.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit said 84-year-old Jim Brown was found safe. Investigators said he has since been reunited with family.
The alert was issued after he was last seen at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, near the 3600 block of Northwest 37th Avenue in Lauderdale Lakes.
BSO is the agency handling the case through its Missing Persons Unit. The update from detectives indicates the search has ended with the man located and back with family.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for an 84-year-old man and are asking the public to help locate him.
Detectives with the BSO Missing Persons Unit said they are looking for Jim Brown, who was last seen at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, near the 3600 block of Northwest 37th Avenue in Lauderdale Lakes.
Investigators said Brown was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white and blue striped shirt, black shoes and a red hat.
Detectives said he may be driving a brown 2017 Hyundai Sonata with Florida tag LMGD01.
Brown is described as about 6 feet 1 inch tall, about 200 pounds, with grey hair and brown eyes.
According to his family, Brown lives with dementia and other health ailments.
Authority for the search and the public request sits with the BSO Missing Persons Unit, which is handling the investigation.
