LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing West Oakland Park Boulevard on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, investigators are looking for the man who struck a pedestrian and left him to die on Saturday afternoon. Deputies say that they responded to the area of 4300 West Oakland Park Boulevard where they found an adult male who had just been struck by a car.

Paramedics rushed the victim to the hospital where he later died.

According to investigators, on Saturday, August 5, at approximately 12:07 p.m., the driver of a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound on West Oakland Park Boulevard near NW 43rd Ave. At the same time, an adult male was walking from south to north in or near the crosswalk.
The white Chevrolet Malibu was located; however, deputies are still searching for the driver. It is unclear if the vehicle was stolen at the time of the crash.
