Man Stabbed In Lauderdale Lakes By Would-Be Carjacker

LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL — A man was stabbed by an attempted car-jacker in Lauderdale Lakes.

(Surveillance video of the incident below)

A man from Lauderdale Lakes experienced a sudden and unexpected attack by someone attempting to steal his car. During the incident, the man was stabbed while sitting inside his vehicle.

The Robbery Unit of the Broward Sheriff’s Office has released surveillance footage, which captures the events that took place on Thursday, September 21, just before 5 p.m. In the video, we can see the attacker approaching the driver’s side of the victim’s parked car in the 4000 block of Northwest 34th Street. The victim had his car window rolled down when approached by the assailant who demanded his car keys. However, despite being threatened, the victim chose not to comply with this demand. Consequently, he was stabbed multiple times on his arm by the attacker. In an attempt to escape further harm, the victim exited his vehicle but was unfortunately stabbed again in his leg before being able to flee.

Once the victim managed to escape from immediate danger, he left behind his assailant who then entered into his vehicle. However, due to not having possession of the car keys at that time, it became impossible for them to successfully steal it.

The injured victim received medical attention for their wounds at Florida Medical Center.
