The National Weather Service allowed a severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Collier and southeastern Hendry counties to expire at 5:45 p.m. Monday after the storm weakened. Heavy rain remains possible with lingering thunderstorms, and isolated storms elsewhere in South Florida may still produce gusty winds, lightning, and localized flooding.
