BOCA RATON, FL — Town Center at Boca Raton will hand out $20 retailer gift cards to college students at a Back-to-Campus event on Saturday, Aug. 8, part of a back-to-school shopping push the mall is timing to Florida's sales tax holiday.
The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at the mall's Center Court, at 6000 Glades Road in Boca Raton, according to Town Center at Boca Raton. College students who show a valid student ID or a college acceptance letter can pick up a $20 retailer gift card while supplies last. The afternoon will also include prize giveaways, music and photo opportunities, the mall said.
For students and families working through back-to-school shopping, the timing lines up with Florida's Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, which runs July 20 through Aug. 20, 2026, as Boca Post has reported. During that window, clothing, school supplies, learning aids and computers are exempt from sales tax under set price caps.
The mall is also steering students toward a set of retailer discounts running during the season. According to Town Center at Boca Raton, American Eagle is offering 15% off every Thursday with a student ID, Athleta is offering 10% off with a student ID or acceptance letter, Steve Madden is advertising 25% off and Kendra Scott is offering 20% off. The specific terms and expiration dates of each offer are set by the individual retailers.
The center has also added stores heading into the season. According to the mall, JD Sports is now open in the Cafés at Boca area, TNS-USA is now open next to Claire's, and Ana Luisa has opened near Sunglass Hut.
The Back-to-Campus event is free to attend, and no registration details were included in the announcement. The mall said interview opportunities may be available on request.
