Today's Weather - Tuesday, June 23, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL — Expect a hot, mostly sunny day with a hazy look to the sky as Saharan dust begins moving in. High near 92, but it will feel closer to 103–106 during the afternoon, and a Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 AM to 6 PM. Rain chances are limited, but a quick shower or thunderstorm is possible around midday, with another small chance late tonight. If a storm pops up, lightning and a brief downpour will be the main concerns

South Florida stays under a strengthening “lid” of high pressure today, and that’s a big reason the forecast leans hotter than stormier. The National Weather Service notes ridging building over the peninsula while a plume of Saharan dust makes its final approach.

For Boca Raton, that combination typically means brighter sun at times, a hazier sky, and fewer widespread storms than a typical late-June day. Near the ground, winds remain light early, then trend south to southeast this afternoon.

That onshore breeze can spark a brief, early round of showers or storms near the Atlantic side late morning into early afternoon. The local point forecast keeps Boca’s rain chance at 30% today, mainly around midday, so many neighborhoods stay dry.

Even with limited storm coverage, any thunderstorm that does form can still be disruptive. The forecast discussion highlights the potential for a few storms to produce gusty winds and frequent lightning, along with locally heavy rainfall.

Boaters and beachgoers along the Boca Raton coast can expect generally quiet marine conditions today: south winds around 5–10 knots and seas 1–2 feet or less. The Intracoastal runs light chop, increasing a bit tonight as winds rise to 10–15 knots.

While most storms should stay over land, a slow-moving evening storm can drift offshore and briefly create hazardous gusts, choppy seas, and frequent lightning. If you hear thunder, get off the water and away from open beaches.

No marine advisories are posted in the forecast package provided.
