TAMARAC, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Tamarac residents looking to clear out expired or unwanted prescription medications and shred personal paperwork will have a one-stop option this weekend.
BSO is hosting an Operation Medicine Cabinet and Shred-A-Thon event Saturday, April 25, in Tamarac. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kings Point, 7620 Nob Hill Road.
The event is set up for people to drop off prescription medications for disposal. BSO said participating individuals who turn in prescription medications will receive a $5 gift card while supplies last.
Needles and sharp objects will not be collected at this event.

Along with medication disposal, officials will collect documents for shredding. BSO is limiting shredding drop-offs to a maximum of two boxes per vehicle.
BSO also set size limits for boxes. Each box can be no more than 16 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 12 inches high.
BSO is the agency running the event and handling the collection. Residents who want more information can call 954-831-8902 or visit www.sheriff.org.
What happens next is straightforward: the event is scheduled for Saturday during the three-hour window. Residents planning to participate should bring only the items BSO said it will accept, and follow the box limits for shredding. Those with needles or other sharp objects will need to use another disposal option, since they will not be taken at this site.
