Military Marker Flare Washed Ashore Pompano Beach - Boca Post

POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — Broward Sheriff’s Office responded with the Bomb Squad when they learned a strange device washed up at Pompano Beach.

Broward Sheriff’s Office released the following statement about the situation:

At approximately 3:24 p.m., Broward County Regional Communications received a call reporting a military item that washed ashore near 10 N Pompano Beach Boulevard in Pompano Beach.

BSO Pompano Beach district deputies along with investigators from BSO’s Bomb Squad Unit responded to the scene and secured the area.

The preliminary investigation revealed the object is a military marker flare. Following protocols, the U.S. Air Force will be responding to recover the item.
