BSO said detectives with its Missing Persons Unit located 12-year-old Matthew Walker yesterday evening. Investigators said he was safely located and has since been reunited with his family.
The missing persons alert was issued after Walker was last seen at about 4 p.m. that day at the 1800 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue, according to investigators.
BSO is the agency handling the case through its Missing Persons Unit. The sheriff’s office provided the update that the child was found safe.

Detectives with the BSO Missing Persons Unit said the boy was last seen at about 4 p.m. Thursday, June 4, near the 1800 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue in Pompano Beach.
BSO identified the child as Matthew Walker.
Investigators said Walker was wearing a black and gray shirt, black pajama pants and black socks when he was last seen.
Walker is described as about 4 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 100 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
BSO is the agency handling the case through its Missing Persons Unit. The department is asking the public to share tips that could help locate him.
