POMPANO BEACH, FL —BSO is looking into a deadly shooting that occurred in Pompano Beach.

The incident took place on June 26, 2024, around 7;16 p.m. Near the area of Northwest Sixth Street in Pompano Beach. The victim, identified as Stanley Jennings under Marsy’s Law, lost his life due to a gunshot wound. Upon receiving reports of the shooting, emergency responders rushed to the scene where they found Jennings injured. He was taken to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The authorities have detained a suspect for questioning and do not suspect any other individuals involved in the shooting incident. Both the Crime Scene and Homicide Units of BSO are actively investigating this tragic event.
Upon completing their investigation, the homicide detectives will present the case to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office for evaluation.
