BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to a reported stabbing near the 2500 block of East Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach on July 14.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL — A Tuesday night stabbing in Pompano Beach left one person dead and ended with an arrest, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 7 p.m. on July 14, Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a stabbing near the 2500 block of East Atlantic Boulevard. BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded.

On scene, emergency crews located an adult male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue transported the victim to Broward Health North hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Detectives with the BSO Homicide Unit are working to positively identify the victim. Investigators believe the two men were known to each other.

BSO said the suspect left the scene after the stabbing. Deputies located him a short time later.

BSO homicide detectives arrested a man in connection with the case. He was transported to BSO Main Jail and faces one count of first degree murder.

The investigation remains active. BSO is continuing to work the case, including confirming the victim’s identity.
