POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — Broward Sheriffs Office detectives from the Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response (VIPER) along with the Fort Lauderdale Gun Intelligence Unit (GIU) have apprehended a 17 year boy believed to be linked to a recent shooting incident, in Pompano Beach that resulted in injuries to two individuals at the beginning of this month.

At around 9 minutes to 10 in the evening on a Saturday in October at Blanche Ely High Schools football game in Pompano Beach District deputies were informed about gunshots being heard nearby and promptly set up a boundary to locate and apprehend whoever was responsible, for firing those shots.

At the location of the incident law enforcement officers found an individual who had been shot and injured. The officers quickly administered medical assistance to the wounded person. Emergency responders then took the injured individual to a hospital where they were reported to have non life threatening injuries. Detectives, from the BSO Violent Crimes Unit arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation.
