DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A motorcyclist has died after being struck by a Mercedes-Benz Sedan in Deerfield Beach.
The Traffic Homicide Unit of the Broward Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a collision that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist in Deerfield Beach on Tuesday, December 19th.
Based on the initial investigation at the scene, it was determined that Lech Podowski was driving a 2007 Mercedes S550 sedan in the westbound lanes of Sample Road and South Dixie Highway at around 9 p.m. At the same time, an adult male riding a 2004 Kawasaki EX 250F motorcycle was in the eastbound lanes of the intersection, preparing to make a left turn northbound onto Dixie Highway.
According to investigators, as the motorcyclist proceeded through the intersection, he was hit by the Mercedes.
Deputies from BSO and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue were dispatched to respond to the incident. Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to Broward Health North, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9;32 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding this tragic collision are still being investigated.
