The BSO Public Information Office said it is working a developing incident involving a traffic crash investigation near the 4400 block of Northeast Third Avenue in Deerfield Beach.
At around 1:45 p.m., Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a crash involving three vehicles in that area. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded along with Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue and BSO’s Aviation unit.
Investigators said one person involved in the collision was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three additional people were transported by paramedics to an area hospital for treatment.
Detectives with BSO’s Traffic Homicide unit were notified and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The BSO Public Information Office described the situation as developing.
Because of the investigation, Northeast Third Avenue is shut down between Northeast 48th Street and Northeast 43rd Street in Deerfield Beach. Motorists are being told to seek alternate routes.
