Shakira Mozie, 34, Passed Away

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — BSO is investigating the suspicious death of 34-year-old Shakira Mozie after she was found dead on the Florida Turnpike in Broward County in December.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the death of a woman whose body was discovered on December 24th along the Florida Turnpike.

On December 24th, around 7 p.m., Broward County Regional Communications received a report about a body found on the northbound section of the Turnpike, just south of the Sunrise Boulevard exit.

Responding to the call were troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and Davie Fire Rescue. Paramedics pronounced Shakira Mozie, the victim, deceased at the scene. At FHP’s request, BSO’s Homicide Unit joined in to conduct an investigation.

Initial findings from detectives suggest that Mozie sustained injuries consistent with falling out of a moving vehicle. Currently, they have interviewed Mozie’s boyfriend, who was identified as the only other known occupant of the vehicle.

Homicide and crime scene investigators are actively exploring all aspects surrounding Mozie’s demise. The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine both cause and manner of death.

If you possess any information related to this case, kindly reach out to BSO Homicide Detective Louis Bonhomme at 954 321 4377. Alternatively, if you prefer to remain anonymous, please contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954 493 TIPS (8477) or visit browardcrimestoppers.org online.
