James Silverstone, Former Commissioner, And Fire Chief Arrested

LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Former Lauderdale-By-The-Sea city Commissioner and Fire chief arrested and charged with transmission of child pornography.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, detectives have arrested and charged, James Silverstone, a former Fire Chief and commissioner of the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, with transmission of child pornography.

Detectives with BSO’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force say that Silverstone transferred more than 210 files containing images and videos of child pornography.

A search warrant was executed at Silverstone’s home in May where deputies found hundreds of additional graphic videos and photos. Deputies say some of those videos featured infants engaged in sexual activity.

Deputies have arrested the former Fire Chief, who has previously volunteered as the Town’s Santa Claus, on 10 counts of transmission of child pornography by electronic device.
