BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2021) — A Boca Raton man is facing DUI charges after allegedly crashing in to a light pole causing it to split in half.
The accident occurred on November 8th, 2021 near 1248 SW 12th St in Boca Raton. Officers from the Boca Raton Police Department responded to the accident where a witness saw Kevin Wynne, a 23 year old Boca Raton resident of 1002 SW 14th St, crash in to the light pole.
It is reported that once the accident investigation was completed a DUI investigation was then initialized. Wynn was asked how he got in to the accident to which he said “he got a text” when he veered off the road hitting the pole. Wynn told officers he was traveling about 35MPH which is the posted speed limit in that residential area.
Wynn voluntarily participated in several field sobriety tests when requested. He failed all of the tests and allegedly had a hard time following the instructions. At one point during the test he asked the officer “is that good or no?”.
Wynn reportedly displayed body tremors during every field sobriety test that he failed. Wynn was then arrested for DUI at approximately 2:38PM. Wynn submitted a Blood Alcohol Test and a urine analysis when requested. Wynn was then transported to the Palm Beach County Jail where he was released the next day to SOR (Supervised Own Recognizance) meaning didn’t have to pay any bail or cash bond.
Wynn now has the following charges pending:
316.193 3C1 (MF)DUI-UNLAW BLD ALCH – DUI DAMAGE TO PROPERTY OR PERSON OF ANOTHER
