LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — BSO deputies are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Lauderdale Lakes.

Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit are currently looking into the details of a shooting incident that occurred in Lauderdale Lakes. According to BSO, the Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a shooting on Somerset Drive in Lauderdale Lakes around 2800 block area after 3:30 in the afternoon on Thursday, November 28th, 2024.

Sheriffs deputies and Broward Fire Rescue swiftly arrived at the scene to respond to a distress call. They found an adult male named Hureleyon McLean with gunshot wounds. Sadly, McLean was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deputies took action by detaining the suspected shooter at that location. Teams from BSOs Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit were called in to investigate into this tragic incident. The inquiry uncovered that McLean got into a dispute with his neighbor which led to the shooting. The neighbor, who was cooperative with investigators, was taken to the Public Safety Building for questioning where they asserted self defense as their reason.

Upon completing the investigation process is finalized the case will be forwarded to the Broward County State Attorneys Office for review to decide on criminal charges to be pursued.

The inquiry is still, in progress.
