BSO Deputy Hurt in Fort Lauderdale Hit-and-run Crash; Search Underway Near West Broward Boulevard

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — FORT LAUDERDALE — BSO is investigating a hit-and-run crash involving one of its deputies near the intersection of West Broward Boulevard and Northwest 11th Avenue, with a search underway for the other driver.

Broward County Regional Communications received the report at about 6:15 p.m. Friday, June 5, according to the BSO Public Information Office.

Investigators said Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the deputy to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The other driver left after the collision, investigators said. The driver fled the scene on foot.

A perimeter was established and units were actively canvassing the area Friday evening, BSO said.

This is a developing incident being handled by the BSO Public Information Office.

For residents in the area, expect an active law enforcement presence near West Broward Boulevard and Northwest 11th Avenue while the canvass continues.
