FLORIDA — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for an 81-year-old woman reported missing from Spring Hill in Hernando County, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

The alert is for Miriam Marrero, 81. FDLE lists her as a White-Hispanic female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 164 pounds.

FDLE said Marrero was last known to be in the Spring Hill area of Hernando County.

The vehicle information released with the alert is a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a Florida tag Z8UBP.

Silver Alerts are used to help locate missing older adults. For residents in South Florida and across the state, the practical takeaway is simple: be on the lookout, especially if you see a vehicle matching the description and tag, and report it quickly through the proper channels.

FDLE directed anyone with information to contact the Hernando County Sheriff's Office at 352-754-6850 or call 911.

The responsibility for receiving tips and coordinating the local response sits with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, with FDLE distributing the statewide alert information.

What happens next depends on incoming information from the public and law enforcement follow-up. Residents should watch for updates from FDLE and the Hernando County Sheriff's Office and continue to check the alert details if they are traveling through or have connections to the Spring Hill area.
