Canceled – FDLE Issues Silver Alert for Missing 73-year-old Woman in Miami Gardens

FDLE issued a Florida Silver Alert for a 73-year-old woman reported missing from Miami Gardens in Dade County.

FLORIDA — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for a missing woman last known to be in Miami Gardens in Dade County, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE identified the missing person as Dortha Footman, 73. She is described as a Black woman with black hair and brown eyes. FDLE lists her height as 5 feet, 3 inches and her weight as 100 pounds.

The alert is centered on Miami Gardens, where FDLE said she was last known to be. Miami Gardens Police Department is the agency handling the case and the point of contact for tips.

For South Florida residents, Silver Alerts are the statewide system used to help locate missing older adults. When one is issued, it is meant to widen awareness quickly and get information to law enforcement.
