TAMARAC, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A 34-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stealing an ambulance in Tamarac on Friday afternoon.

BSO deputies responded to a call regarding a stolen private ambulance near University Drive and McNab Road in Tamarac at about 1:15 PM on Friday, May 2nd, 2023.

BSO Deputies responded to try to locate the vehicle, which had an employee still inside at the time of the theft. Authorities say the employee was able to exit the vehicle after the theft. The ambulance was then involved in a hit-and-run crash on McNab Road. Luckily, there were no injuries reported.

The stolen vehicle was then involved in another crash on Hiatus Road in Sunrise.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Ciara McGriff, was located and taken into custody. McGriff is facing serious charges including rand theft auto, false imprisonment, and leaving the scene of an accident.
