UPDATE: The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has canceled this Silver Alert. You can view the FDLE cancellation notice here.

FLORIDA — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for a person reported missing in Florida, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

The alert is a statewide notice used to help locate missing people, and it puts the case in front of the public quickly so tips can get to investigators while they still matter.

FDLE is the agency issuing the alert. The public-facing information is posted through FDLE’s Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse, with an official flyer available online.

FDLE is asking anyone with information to contact law enforcement or call 911.

What happens next is straightforward. Law enforcement will continue working the case, and FDLE will keep the Silver Alert active as appropriate. Residents should watch for updates through official channels and share information only with law enforcement, using 911 if they believe they have information that could help locate the missing person.

The official FDLE flyer is available here: http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/MCICSearch/Flyer.asp?ID=515922
