BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Expect a sunny but breezy Tuesday in Boca Raton, with an ongoing rip current statement and only small rain chances returning late week.
Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings
A Rip Current Statement is in effect for the Boca Raton area as of early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service forecast for 2 miles ESE of Boca Raton Airport.
Rip currents are a persistent South Florida hazard, especially when onshore flow keeps the surf zone churned up. If you’re headed toward the beaches today, this is the kind of statement that matters. The water can look inviting under sunny skies, but the current can do the opposite of what the sky suggests.
(If you’re not an experienced ocean swimmer, treat today as a “look, don’t go in” kind of beach day.)
Today’s Weather – Tuesday, December 16, 2025
Boca Raton gets a cleaner forecast today after the recent stretch of wind and unsettled weather. The National Weather Service calls for sunny skies and a high near 74. It’s a pleasant number for mid-December, but it won’t feel still.
The breeze stays in the forecast all day. Winds are expected out of the northeast at 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. That steady push is noticeable along the Intracoastal and across the beach parks, and it can be felt inland too, especially in open areas and along east-west roads like Glades Road.
If you’re driving the I-95 corridor during peak commute hours, wind isn’t usually the headline, but you’ll feel it when you’re passing open stretches or moving across bridges. And if you’ve got loose patio items, lightweight holiday décor, or anything that likes to rattle around, this is the day it ends up in the neighbor’s yard.
Still, compared to a typical wet, humid South Florida day, it’s a crisp, straightforward forecast: bright sun, a mild high, and a steady breeze.
Tonight stays on the calm-looking side, but it remains windy enough to notice. The forecast calls for mostly clear skies with a low around 68. The breeze continues with an east wind 13 to 16 mph, and gusts up to 22 mph. If you’re near the water, you’ll hear it. If you’re inland in the western suburbs, you’ll still catch it, especially later in the evening.
