Pedestrian Killed in Brightline Train Collision in Deerfield Beach

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A pedestrian died Monday night after being struck by a train near West Hillsboro Boulevard and Dixie Highway in Deerfield Beach, according to investigators.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the incident, which was reported shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2. Investigators said Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a crash involving a Brightline train in the area.

Detectives said a preliminary investigation indicates an unidentified adult male was walking westbound on the sidewalk and attempting to cross the east set of railroad tracks when he was struck by a train.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene, investigators said.

BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit responded and continued investigating the circumstances of the incident. Detectives said safety equipment was working properly during the on-scene investigation.
