Broward Sheriff’s Office said an 80-year-old man reported missing from Deerfield Beach was located in Boca Raton and reunited with his family.

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL — An 80-year-old man who was reported missing from Deerfield Beach has been safely located in Boca Raton, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

BSO Missing Persons Unit detectives said Otis Drummer was located by Boca Raton Police in the city of Boca Raton and was subsequently reunited with his family.

The missing persons alert was issued earlier Tuesday, May 19, BSO said. Detectives said Drummer was last seen around 4 p.m. Monday, May 18, in the 200 block of Southwest Fourth Street in Deerfield Beach.

The update from BSO did not include additional details about where in Boca Raton he was found or the circumstances of how he was located.

BSO’s Missing Persons Unit is the agency that issued the alert and provided the update. Boca Raton Police handled the location in Boca Raton, BSO said.

For residents in Boca Raton and nearby areas, the key update is that the missing person has been found safe and reunited with family. Anyone who sees a missing persons alert should continue to follow instructions from the issuing agency and contact law enforcement with information when an alert is active.

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for an 80-year-old man reported missing and are asking the public to help locate him.

BSO identified the missing man as Otis Drummer, 80.

Detectives said Drummer was last seen around 4 p.m. Monday, May 18, in the 200 block of Southwest Fourth Street in Deerfield Beach.

Drummer is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and about 165 pounds, with grey hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey and white long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.

According to his family, Drummer suffers from dementia.

The search and investigation are being handled by BSO detectives. Anyone with information on Drummer’s whereabouts is asked to contact BSO Detective Chris Blankenship at 954-321-4268 or the BSO non-emergency number at 954-764-HELP (4357).
