Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide detectives are sifting through the details of a crash that snuffed out a woman’s life while she was asleep beneath the box trailer of a landscaping truck in Pompano Beach, on Friday, Oct. 24.

The deadly incident unfolded at about 6:58 a.m. On Friday, near the 100‑block of Northwest Place. Investigators say the victim had been crawling beneath a landscaping truck’s box trailer the night before and was subsequently run over.

Detectives say the driver, a landscaping worker pulled the truck out of its parking spot and later ran the victim over.

BSO deputies, with Pompano Beach Fire Rescue rushed to the scene, where paramedics later announced that the victim had already succumbed, pronouncing death on site.

None of the culprits—excessive speed, a mechanical failure or driver impairment—were deemed to have contributed to this fatal crash.
