POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating a murder after a man was found shot early Sunday in Pompano Beach, and Broward Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for tips that lead to an arrest.
Deputies responded around 2 a.m. on April 5 to a report of an injured male lying in the roadway in the 1600 block of North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach, according to BSO. On scene, deputies located an adult male who had sustained a gunshot wound.
The victim was identified as 40-year-old Rayon Sanchez. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
BSO’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate. The 1600 block of North Dixie Highway was shut down to traffic for about four hours overnight and later reopened.

The investigation is being handled by BSO’s Homicide Unit. BSO is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
