Douglas “Strut” Streeter Identified As Murder Victim

BOCA RATON, FL — PBSO recently identified the body of a man who was found in Belle Glade farmland back in 1976.

While the murder case remains unsolved, detectives were recently successful in identifying the body of a man in his 20s, now known as Douglas Streeter. Streeter, who was from Bryan, Ohio, visited Boca Raton with friends in March of 1976. Streeter was last seen near the Spanish Oak Apartments and never returned home.

In October of 1976, a fisherman reported finding human remains near the Talisman Farms area located between Belle Glade and South Bay, in rural Palm Beach County. Those human remains were finally identified as Streeter’s in 2023.

A PBSO forensic sketch artist produced the following speculative image of the victim, prior to DNA being used to identify Streeter.
