FLORIDA (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for a missing man last known to be in Spring Hill, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
FDLE said the alert is for Larry Hackett, 78, from Spring Hill in Hernando County.
Hackett is described as a white male with white hair and brown eyes. FDLE listed him as 6 feet 2 inches tall and about 170 pounds.
FDLE said Hackett was last known to be in the Spring Hill area.
Authorities are also asking the public to watch for a vehicle connected to the alert: a 2015 Ford Fusion with Florida tag BSY1Y.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is the agency handling tips. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office at 352-754-6830 or call 911.
For residents in South Florida, Silver Alerts can move quickly across county lines, especially when a vehicle is involved, and the public is often the difference between a case staying cold and getting resolved fast. The key details to watch for are the description and the car information, and to report sightings directly to law enforcement.
FDLE’s official flyer is posted online through its Missing Persons Information Clearinghouse.
