BOCA RATON, FL — The grey Ferrari came to rest halfway on a sidewalk.
Boca Raton Police say the driver had been clocked at 71 mph on North Federal Highway moments earlier, then led an officer on a short chase down Glades Road that ended after the car ran a red left-turn arrow and pulled up onto a curb, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Palm Beach County.
Michael Francis Bogdan, 48, of Deerfield Beach, was arrested on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and violating Florida's street racing law, according to the affidavit and Palm Beach County court records.
The case, 50-2026-CF-004856-AXXX-MB, was filed in the 15th Judicial Circuit and assigned to the felony division, according to Palm Beach County court records.
Officer Michael Ryan Super, badge 845, was conducting stationary traffic enforcement near 600 N. Federal Highway around 8:20 p.m. on June 29, 2026, when he spotted two vehicles accelerating side by side in the northbound lanes, according to the affidavit.
The officer wrote that a grey two-door vehicle and a black four-door vehicle appeared to be trying to outdistance one another. He estimated the grey car at about 67 mph, then said a Dragon Eye Speedlidar confirmed 71 mph in a 35-mph zone. As the car passed him, the officer wrote, he recognized it as a grey Ferrari.
Both cars stopped at a red light, giving the officer time to catch up, according to the affidavit. When the light changed, both turned westbound onto Glades Road from North Federal Highway.
Near Glades Road and North Dixie Highway, the vehicles slowed enough that two cars behind them also slowed, then accelerated hard again, door to door, the officer wrote. The officer activated the lights and sirens on his marked patrol vehicle.
Neither driver stopped, the affidavit states. The black four-door continued westbound at high speed. The grey Ferrari began weaving, moving from the far-left lane through the middle lane and back after passing another vehicle.
At NW 4th Avenue and Glades Road, according to the affidavit, the Ferrari slowed in the left turn lane and turned left on a solid red arrow through the path of oncoming traffic.
After the turn onto NW 4th Avenue, the affidavit states, the Ferrari attempted a U-turn back toward Glades Road, tried to pull into a driveway, and stopped at the last second half on the driveway and half on the sidewalk. The vehicle came to a final rest after driving onto the sidewalk and curb, the officer wrote.
Bogdan complied with a lawful command to exit the vehicle and was placed in two sets of handcuffs due to his size, according to the affidavit. He was identified through his Florida driver's license.
The arrest occurred at 400 W. Glades Road at 8:36 p.m., according to Boca Raton Police records. Bogdan was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail just after midnight on June 30, 2026, jail records show, and released the same morning at 4:20 a.m. on a surety bond totaling $6,000, jail records show.
The charges are allegations. Bogdan has not entered a plea. Attorney information was not included in the provided records. The status of the second vehicle described in the affidavit was not addressed in the provided documents.
