CORAL SPRINGS, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Coral Springs is preparing for a city-run community event designed to bring residents together around live music, food, and local business engagement, with a Cinco de Mayo theme anchoring the evening.

The City of Coral Springs will host a Community Concert on Friday, May 1, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the City Hall Lawn, located at 9500 West Sample Road. The event is organized by the city and is open to the public at no cost.

The concert centers on live performances, with the Jamboree Latin Band scheduled to open the evening, followed by a headlining set from FM Band Miami. The lineup is built around Latin and dance-oriented music, with organizers planning for continuous entertainment throughout the four-hour event window.

In addition to the stage performances, the event includes roaming mariachi musicians and character-based entertainment moving through the crowd. These elements are intended to extend the experience beyond the main stage and keep activity spread across the lawn.

The city has structured the event as a family-friendly gathering, with multiple activity zones planned. Children’s programming includes face painting, inflatable attractions, outdoor games, and arts and crafts stations. These features are designed to operate concurrently with the live music rather than as separate programming blocks.

Food service will be handled by a lineup of food trucks positioned on-site, offering a range of options for attendees throughout the evening. The setup allows residents to remain at the venue for the duration of the event without needing to leave for dining.

Alongside the entertainment, the City of Coral Springs Economic Development Office will introduce a new component to the event: the inaugural Coral Springs Business Expo. The expo is structured as a series of interactive booths where local businesses can present services, connect directly with residents, and promote their operations within the community.

The inclusion of the business expo reflects a broader city effort to integrate economic development initiatives into public events, giving small and local businesses a built-in audience during high-attendance gatherings. Residents attending the concert will be able to engage directly with business owners while moving through the event space.

City officials describe the concert as a community-focused celebration built around cultural elements associated with Cinco de Mayo, while also serving as a general-purpose public gathering for residents across Coral Springs and surrounding areas.

The event will take place on the City Hall Lawn, a central civic location that regularly hosts municipal programming and large-scale gatherings. Parking and access are expected to follow standard event patterns for City Hall functions.

The concert is positioned as a single-evening event with no ticketing requirement, and attendance is open to the public on a first-come basis. Residents planning to attend should expect a multi-use environment with music, food, children’s activities, and vendor engagement all operating simultaneously.

The city directs residents seeking additional details, including event logistics and updates, to its official website.
