COCONUT CREEK, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A stolen car investigation involving Coconut Creek Police and Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies escalated into a pursuit and left the Florida Turnpike’s southbound lanes closed near Sunrise Boulevard, authorities said.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted Coconut Creek Police with a stolen vehicle investigation that originated out of Fort Lauderdale. Authorities said Broward Sheriff’s Office involvement began in the area of Sample Road and the Florida Turnpike.
