BOCA RATON, FL — A guest says the fall happened near the ice machine.
Now, a civil lawsuit filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court alleges unsafe conditions at Fairfield Inn & Suites Boca Raton led to a guest slipping and falling on the hotel’s third floor.
The complaint, Deborah King v. Waterford Hotel Group, LLC and Boca Airport, Inc., Case No. 502026CA006494XXXAMB, was filed June 10, 2026, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County. The filing lists Division AH.
Deborah King, a resident of Windsor, Ohio, is suing Waterford Hotel Group, LLC and Boca Airport, Inc. The complaint was filed by Morgan & Morgan, P.A., with attorney Marius Boeru listed on the filing.
According to the complaint, the case involves the Fairfield Inn & Suites Boca Raton at 3400 Airport Road in Boca Raton. The lawsuit alleges Waterford Hotel Group, LLC and Boca Airport, Inc. were each the owner, manager, operator or entity in possession of the business.
The filing says King was visiting the Boca Raton hotel as a business invitee on or about July 21, 2025. According to the complaint, she “suddenly and without warning” slipped and fell because of liquid on the floor near the ice machine on the third floor.
The complaint alleges the defendants had actual knowledge of the liquid on the floor. In the alternative, the lawsuit claims the liquid existed long enough that the defendants should have known about it through reasonable care, or that liquid in the ice machine area occurred with enough regularity that the condition was foreseeable.
The lawsuit brings negligence claims against both Waterford Hotel Group, LLC and Boca Airport, Inc.
In both counts, King alleges the defendants had a duty to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition and to warn guests about concealed or latent dangers that were known or should have been known to them. The complaint claims the defendants breached that duty by allegedly allowing a hazardous condition to exist, failing to maintain or inspect the area, failing to correct the condition and failing to warn King.
Those are allegations in a civil court filing. They have not been proven in court.
The complaint claims King suffered injuries, including an alleged permanent injury, along with pain and suffering, disability, physical impairment, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life.
King is seeking damages exceeding $50,000, exclusive of costs, interest and attorney’s fees. The lawsuit also seeks compensatory damages, incidental and consequential damages, post-judgment interest, costs and any other relief the court deems proper. King also demands a jury trial.
