BOCA RATON, FL — A Palm Beach County woman has filed a negligence lawsuit over an alleged fall in the parking lot of Sandalfoot Square in Boca Raton, according to a complaint filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.
The complaint, Iris Cree v. Sandalfoot Plaza Boca, LLC, Case No. 502026CA006003XXXAMB, was filed May 28, 2026, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County. The filing names Iris Cree as plaintiff and Sandalfoot Plaza Boca, LLC as defendant.
Cree is represented by Morgan & Morgan, P.A., according to the complaint. Attorney Zachary Baker is listed on the filing. The complaint reviewed by Boca Post does not list a defense attorney or include a response from the defendant.
The lawsuit centers on an alleged incident at Sandalfoot Square, a shopping plaza at 23100 Sandalfoot Plaza Drive in Boca Raton. According to the complaint, Sandalfoot Plaza Boca, LLC owned, operated, managed, controlled, maintained or possessed the plaza at the time of the alleged fall.
The complaint alleges that on or about Dec. 11, 2025, Cree was walking through the parking lot near Thick & Thin Restaurant & Pizzeria when she “tripped and fell” on what the lawsuit describes as a broken, uneven and deteriorated speed bump.
The lawsuit claims Cree was a business invitee on the property at the time. The complaint alleges she sustained significant, severe and permanent injuries because of the fall. Those allegations have not been proven in court.
The complaint brings one count of negligence against Sandalfoot Plaza Boca, LLC. In plain terms, the lawsuit alleges the plaza operator had a duty to keep the premises, including the parking lot, in a reasonably safe condition for people using the property.
The filing claims the defendant breached that alleged duty in several ways, including by allegedly failing to inspect the premises, failing to maintain the premises, failing to correct the alleged hazardous condition and failing to warn about it.
The lawsuit also alleges the condition was dangerous to invitees using the premises. The complaint claims Cree suffered injuries and losses including pain and suffering, physical impairment, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of capacity for enjoyment of life and medical care expenses.
Cree is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, exclusive of costs, interest and attorney’s fees. The complaint also seeks interest, costs and any other relief the court deems proper.
The filing includes a demand for a jury trial on all issues that may be tried by jury.
