BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton will run hot and humid today with a high near 88 and a heat index pushing around 100 during the afternoon. Most of the day is partly sunny, with only a low chance of a shower or thunderstorm late in the day. Tonight turns mostly cloudy with a better chance of evening storms before things quiet down later, and lows near 78. Tuesday looks noticeably wetter, with showers and thunderstorms becoming more likely by afternoon and continuing into Tuesday night
South Florida is sitting in a “one more day of heat” setup today, and Boca Raton will feel it. The National Weather Service notes high pressure is still the main player locally, keeping winds fairly light while pulling in humid air from the south.
That humidity is the big story: with plenty of moisture in place, it won’t take much afternoon heating for storms to pop up. For Boca, today’s forecast keeps rain chances low for most of the day, then brings a small chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m.
Even if storms are isolated, any that develop can bring a quick downpour, lightning, and a burst of gusty wind. The forecast discussion also flags that a few storms could briefly push strong wind gusts, with the better odds closer to interior areas and toward the Palm Beach County coast later in the day.
Heat impacts are more widespread than the rain today. Afternoon “feels-like” temperatures around 100 are expected across much of the region, so plan extra water and breaks if you’re outside.
Boaters and beachgoers should expect generally manageable conditions outside of storms, but keep an eye on the sky each afternoon. For the Boca Raton coastal waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), south winds run about 10–15 knots today with seas around 2 feet, then winds ease tonight.
Tuesday brings lighter winds that turn easterly, with seas staying under 2 feet, but showers and thunderstorms become more common. By Wednesday, easterly flow increases and seas build to 3–5 feet offshore (occasionally higher), especially later in the day.
Thunderstorms can create sudden hazardous gusts, rougher seas, and frequent lightning near the coast and in the Intracoastal.
