FLORIDA — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for an 80-year-old man reported missing from DeLand in Volusia County, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE identified the missing person as Victor Di Donato. He is described as a white male, 80 years old, bald, with hazel eyes. He is listed at 5 feet 11 inches tall and 120 pounds.

FDLE said his last known area was DeLand.

Silver Alerts are used to quickly share information about missing older adults so law enforcement and the public can help locate them. For South Florida residents, these alerts can matter because missing-person cases can move across county lines fast, and public awareness can help generate tips when someone is spotted at a gas station, rest stop, or along major routes.

Authority for the case sits with local law enforcement in the area where the person was last known to be, and FDLE is distributing the statewide alert information.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the DeLand Police Department at 386-626-7400 or call 911.

Residents should watch for the description provided in the alert and report any information directly to law enforcement. FDLE’s official flyer for this Silver Alert is posted online at http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/MCICSearch/Flyer.asp?ID=511125.
