BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons detectives are asking for the public’s help locating a 65-year-old man who was last seen in Oakland Park.
BSO said detectives with its Missing Persons Unit are looking for Michael Vassell, 65. He was last seen at about 6 p.m. Monday, March 2, near the 4900 block of Northwest Ninth Avenue in Oakland Park.
BSO described Vassell as about 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 190 pounds, with grayish black hair and brown eyes.
According to his daughter, Vassell experiences mental illness.
BSO is asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact BSO Detective Leonard Charla at 954-321-4274. Tips can also be made through the BSO non-emergency number at 954-764-HELP (4357).
For residents in Boca Raton and across South Florida, the key details to watch are the last known location and time, and the contact numbers for BSO. Anyone who believes they have seen Vassell, or has information that could help locate him, is being asked to call BSO.
