BSO Searching for Missing Woman Last Seen in Oakland Park on North Dixie Highway

BSO detectives are asking the public for help locating a 34-year-old woman last seen Wednesday afternoon in Oakland Park.

BSO is asking for the public’s help to locate a missing 34-year-old woman last seen near the 5700 block of North Dixie Highway in Oakland Park.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL — Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing 34-year-old woman who was last seen in Oakland Park.

BSO said Lauren Hunter was last seen at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, near the 5700 block of North Dixie Highway in Oakland Park. Investigators said she was wearing black pants, a pink shirt, and black slides.

BSO described Hunter as about 5 feet 4 inches tall and about 140 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes.

According to the reporting person, Hunter experiences mental illness and health-related issues and is considered legally blind.

The search is being handled by the BSO Missing Persons Unit. BSO is asking anyone who has information about Hunter’s whereabouts to contact BSO Missing Persons Detective Leonard Charla at 954-321-4274.

Residents who think they may have seen Hunter, or who have information that could help detectives locate her, can also call the BSO non-emergency number at 954-764-HELP (4357).

BSO did not release additional details about where Hunter may be headed or how long she has been missing beyond the last-seen information. The agency is asking the public to report tips directly to BSO using the numbers provided.
