As first reported by Boca Post, BSO deputies shot and killed a domest violence suspect on Wednesday. Now, BSO tells us that The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is currently investigating the shooting.

Around 2;30 p.m. On January 10th, detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Oakland Park District Crime Suppression Team were searching for Alexander Staal, who was wanted for multiple felony charges related to domestic violence. The detectives found Staal’s vehicle parked on East Prospect Road and confirmed that he was inside. They identified themselves as law enforcement officers and made several attempts to get Staal to surrender, but he refused to comply with their commands. At around 2;47 p.m., a confrontation occurred, leading the deputies to fire their weapons. Sadly, Staal was pronounced dead at the scene by Oakland Park Fire Rescue.
